Tuesday while climbing the stairs I saw this mother duck sitting in her nest. She built her nest with scrap pieces of tie wire on the platform at the base of the scaffolding on Tower Five. When I first saw the nest last week it was empty and the inside was lined with duck feathers. She had obviously gathered pieces of tie wire from around the tower and woven them into her nest. Yesterday and today she was sitting in her nest when I arrived and when I left the tower. I expect it won’t be long before we see her baby ducklings; hopefully I’ll be able to get a few shots of them before she takes them out for a swim.
